Fort Point is home to over 300 artists who produce work in a wide array of media. It is recognized as one of New England’s largest artists’ communities. The Fort Point Arts Community, Inc. of South Boston (FPAC) is a non‐profit community organization founded in 1980. FPAC builds cultural vibrancy in Boston by cultivating an empowered community of artists, organizations, and supporters. It promotes the work of our artists to a broad and diverse audience, advocates for art opportunities, develops permanent, affordable live-work studio space and ensures that art is an essential part of the life of a creative city. Flansburgh Architects is working with FPAC to develop a prototype live-work community which investigates the relationship of micro living units, live-work units, shared work spaces and commercial space.
