PROJECT DESIGNER (CURRENTLY CLOSED)

Although we are not actively hiring, we welcome the opportunity to keep your resume and portfolio on file for our Boston studio. Flansburgh is seeking a Project Designer with 2 to 4 years of professional experience in design for a range of project types across all phases from Planning through Construction Documents. The Project Designer will work closely with Design Principal, advancing the project’s conceptual direction, form, and programmatic arrangement, both independently and in collaboration with the design team. The qualified candidate must be able to engage project criteria, establish and iterate underlying rationales, and develop and communicate design goals to clients, consultants, and the design team. Applicants should have a general knowledge of building systems, sustainability practices, architectural history, and an understanding of appropriate constructability within a project budget. A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Vectorworks, Cinema4D, Sketchup preferred) are required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a plus.

JUNIOR ARCHITECT (CURRENTLY CLOSED)

Although we are not actively hiring, we welcome the opportunity to keep your resume and portfolio on file for our Boston studio. Flansburgh is seeking a licensed Project Architect with 4 to 7 years experience in a design-oriented office. Junior Architects are responsible for development and coordination of projects throughout all phases of design, from conceptual design through construction administration. This role will assist Project Architects and Principals in design, production, conceptual direction, form, and programmatic arrangement, both independently and with a team. The qualified candidate will also participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and the design team. Exceptional design talent and technical skills are required in order to oversee the planning and execution of project documents. A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Vectorworks, Cinema4D, Sketchup preferred) are required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required. A licensed/registered architect with LEED certification (or near licensure and certification) is preferred.

Project Architects are responsible for leadership and coordination of project team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from conceptual design through construction administration. This role will assist senior leadership in design, managing production, mentoring staff, representing the firm to the client, and participating in presentations and meetings. Exceptional design talent and technical skills are required in order to oversee the planning and execution of project documents. A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Vectorworks, Cinema4D, Sketchup preferred) are required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required. A licensed/registered architect with LEED certification is strongly preferred.

JOB CAPTAIN / PROJECT MANAGER (OPEN)

Flansburgh is seeking an architect with 7 to 15 years’ experience in a design-oriented office to assist and/or lead production of large public projects. The qualified candidate will participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and the design team. We are seeking a motivated person with exceptional technical skills, design ability, and time-management skills to successfully execute construction documents and meet project deadlines. Applicants should have a clear knowledge of building systems, sustainability practices, and an understanding of appropriate constructability within a project budget. Excellent communication and leadership skills, a five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture, and advanced knowledge of BIM software (Vectorworks preferred) are required. A licensed/registered architect with LEED certification (or near licensure and certification) is preferred.
