ASFG Receives 2025 BSA Honor Award

March 6, 2026 |

Flansburgh is pleased to announce that the American School Foundation of Guadalajara | High School has been awarded an Honor in the Built Design Excellence Awards for Educational Facilities. The honor was presented at the Boston Society of Architecture (BSA) Awards Gala, which took place on March 5th.

The BSA Design Awards program celebrates exemplary innovation in the built environment, investment from committed clients, and the unique power of architecture to design buildings and spaces that transform communities and shape the way we live. The BSA honors projects that embody the values of the AIA Framework of Design Excellence and the BSA’s vision of building a just and sustainable Boston, together.

The jury shared the following summary about the new High School. “Elegant, bold, and bright, this high school is incredibly confident in its approach. The open vertical campus frees the ground plane while sculptural ramps blur indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a continuous open-air campus in the sky. Thin, sandwich concrete plates read as beautifully transparent and laser-cut, pairing structural ingenuity with delight. Rooted in Guadalajara’s modernist lineage, the project integrates thermal mass, cross-ventilation, and layered shading, elevating the student experience through social connection, wellbeing, and a strong sense of belonging.
