Masters Academy International Celebrates Opening Day
Co-founders Peter and Chris Masters were recently joined by Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, local officials, students, faculty, community members, and project partners to ring in the new school year at the grand opening of Masters Academy International (MAI) in Stow, Massachusetts, launching New England’s first school designed specifically for elite student-athletes. Welcoming students for their very first day of class, the school operates under the global Cognita network and serves an inaugural class of roughly 300 student-athletes in grades 6 through post-grad with a model that seamlessly integrates college-preparatory academics, high-level athletic training, and character development. The repurposed 82-acre campus features modern classrooms, student residences, an athletic recovery center, multi-sport turf fields, and an indoor training facility, bringing 135 full-time jobs to the region. Flansburgh Architects is proud to serve as the designer on this transformative project, helping build an environment where student-athletes can reach their full academic and athletic potential.
