St. John’s Prep Breaks Ground on New Student Commons

June 5, 2026 |

St. John’s Prep recently broke ground on the transformation of its historic Memorial Dining Hall into a new Student Commons. Originally built in 1926, the century-old facility is being completely reimagined to better serve a community of more than 1,100 boys each day. The renovation will expand and modernize the kitchen and servery, relocate Student Life offices to the center of daily campus activity, and create flexible gathering spaces for programming, quiet conversation, and informal mentorship. Flansburgh Architects was honored to join the school's recent milestone groundbreaking celebration and is proud to bring this vision to life alongside project partners Scalora Consulting Group (OPM) and Procon (Construction Manager).
