Architectural Record Features New Perkiomen Student Center
Architectural Record recently highlighted Flansburgh Architects' new student center at the Perkiomen School.
"Founded in 1875, the Perkiomen School is a small college-preparatory boarding and day school set on a leafy 185-acre campus in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, midway between Philadelphia and the Blue Mountains. Its collection of predominantly red-brick buildings spans more than a century, and includes a Carnegie library completed in 1912.
Despite its picturesque setting, the campus lacked a clearly defined front door—a place where visitors could understand the school as a cohesive whole. That changed last year, when Boston-based Flansburgh Architects completed the first key component of a multiphase master plan: a student center influenced by traditional Pennsylvania barns."
