Jacob's Pillow | Ted Shawn Theatre
Renovation of Performing Arts Facility | Becket, Massachusetts
The design of the historic Ted Shawn Theatre at Jacob’s Pillow seamlessly blends 21st-century performance capabilities with its iconic, rustic Berkshire barn aesthetic. The transformation expanded the stage footprint by 10 feet and integrated an orchestra pit, advanced rigging, and a near-silent, eco-friendly cooling system to support complex modern dance productions in comfort. By subtly tucking state-of-the-art theatrical technology and full ADA accessibility behind hand-hewn timbers, the design preserves the intimate, historic soul of America’s oldest dance landmark.
